The school was founded in 1984. This purpose-built school provides an ideal language learning environment. The school has 32 classrooms, a dedicated internet study, wireless internet access, a listening centre, bookshop, a student lounge and student café. Renovations have also provided an executive lounge, an attractive garden and patio, a large reception and student service areas. The school and its programmes have been specifically designed so that adults and young learners are able to study and socialise separately.

The school provides an extensive leisure programme with experienced Torbay tour guides and school owned minibuses as well as coach excursions to the region's best locations.They offer daily afternoon and evening excursions as well as full-day excursions at the weekend, all year round.The experienced staff will ensure that the trips are enjoyable and interesting. Whatever your interest, they will do their best to meet your requirements. Standard and special excursions can be booked at the school at the Leisure/Activity Reception desk, five days a week.
